Sprouting is a simple way to get fresh sprouts full of flavour. The basis for this are sprouting seeds and suitable accessories, which will simplify the entire process and help maintain the correct conditions for growth, especially appropriate humidity, air access, and drainage of excess water.
Why sprout and how to use sprouts
Thanks to sprouting, you can have fresh sprouts on hand at any time and easily use them in the kitchen. The entire process is not time-consuming and anyone can do it.
Sprouts are suitable for a wide range of dishes. They will elevate your salads, spreads, sandwiches, and wraps to a new level. They also perfectly complement your soups or cooked meals just before serving. They add freshness, flavour, and a slight crunch to food.
Everything for easy home sprouting
The products in this category are designed for comfortable home sprouting. They are suitable for both beginners and those who prepare sprouts regularly. Here you will find primarily:
When sprouting in a jar, start by thoroughly rinsing the seeds several times in cold water, which will activate them. Then place the seeds in a sprouting jar, pour cold water over them, and leave the jar horizontally for 24 hours.
After this time, rinse the seeds again with cold water, drain the water, and place the sprouting jar in a sprouting stand so that the lid faces downwards and excess water can drain freely. During sprouting, it is important to regularly rinse the sprouts with cold water, ideally at least twice a day, and after each rinse, place the jar back in the stand with the lid down.
Keep the sprouts slightly moist at all times, but they must not stand in water or dry out completely. For proper growth, they need sufficient air and even distribution in the jar.
They thrive best at room temperature, approximately 18–20 °C. Do not expose them to direct sunlight. Some seeds prefer darkness in the first few days of sprouting, while others are fine with normal diffused light.
After a few days, the first sprouts will appear. The total sprouting time is approximately 4–5 days, after which the seeds are ready for use. Once sprouted, it is advisable to consume them as soon as possible – they will only last a few days in the fridge and may become bitter or hard if stored for too long.
The right accessories facilitate home sprouting and will help you on your way to perfect sprouts. Sprouting jars with sieves allow for easy rinsing and draining of excess water, so the seeds do not sit in moisture and have enough air.
This reduces the risk of mould and the sprouts grow evenly. Individual parts can be easily disassembled, washed, and reused.
Sprouting can be easy when you have the right accessories on hand that will help you maintain the correct conditions throughout the process and facilitate daily care for your sprouts. Make home sprouting easier and prepare sprouts to your taste.
