Effortless sprouting with the Sprouting Kit
Enrich your diet with your own home sprouted nutrient-packed
foods. With this sprouting kit, you can easily and elegantly
sprout seeds right at home.
The kit includes two 480 ml jars with
special lids featuring mesh inserts. This
design ensures the germinating seeds receive proper air circulation and allows
excess water to drain off after rinsing. The set also includes a
rack, where you can safely store the jars bottom up, and a
bowl to catch any run-off water.
The materials used – clear glass and stainless
steel – allow easy and hygienic
maintenance. The advantage of glass is its versatility, as it doesn't react with
the stored food or affect its taste or smell.
Germination has never been easier.
All about germination
Sprouting is an easy way to increase the nutritional value
of seeds, grains or legumes. Germination begins the process of growing a new
plant, requiring a variety of substances that are also beneficial to humans.
Therefore, after germination, the seeds have an incomparably
higher content of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids,
fibre and other substances. In addition, minerals in this form are easier for
our bodies to absorb and use.
You can easily and affordably germinate seeds at home. Growing sprouts
promotes self-sufficiency and sustainability.
Benefits of germination
- Increased nutrient content
- Better absorption and usability
- A milder taste of seeds and legumes
- Restriction of bloating agents
- Reduction of heat treatment time
What can be sprouted
You can use any seeds of legumes, vegetables, cereals or
herbs for germination. Of the legumes, beans, peas, lentils, mung beans are
often prepared this way. Sunflower, pumpkin and flax seeds, radishes, buckwheat,
alfalfa, barley, spelt, oats and many other seeds can also be germinated.
The germinated seeds find their use in hot and cold cuisine. You can either
process them further e.g. into porridges, spreads, smoothies or
dips, or use them to garnish soup, salad, pastries and
desserts. They can also be eaten just like that without cooking
as a nutritious and quick snack.
Note
This kit is not suitable for germinating seeds that form a
jelly-like gel when soaked, such as watercress, chia or
arugula, as soaking them starts the rotting process. We recommend that you only
dehydrate these seeds in a germination tray.
Method of use
Soak the seeds in water, rinse them thoroughly, and remove
any damaged pieces or impurities. Use only whole, undamaged, chemically
untreated and unhulled seeds for germination, ideally of organic quality.
Place the seeds in a jar, screw on the lid, and fill the jar with water until
it's about three-quarters full. Leave soaked at room
temperature for 5–12 hours (depending on seed type).
Then pour off the water and rinse the seeds. Turn the jar
upside down, place it in a rack and place it on a flat surface
near a window at room temperature of about 20 °C, out of direct sunlight.
Rinse 2–3 times a day with cold water, ensuring you drain it
each time.
After a few days, the seeds germinate. The length of germination depends on
the type of seed and the ambient temperature. Sprouts are immediately
ready to eat.
They can be further stored in the refrigerator, where their
growth will slow down. Rinse them with water before eating.
