Like rose and geranium, palmarosa removes „hotness“ and has soothing and moisturising functions (strengthens yin energy).
On an emotional level, it will support your ability to adapt to the free flow while inducing a sense of security. The lemony, rose-like softness of its aroma is balancing, astringent, distracting and gathering. Like rose oil, it refreshes the heart and mind and like lemon oil, it relieves congestion.
If you often suffer from nervousness and insecurity, generally dislike change, and find it difficult to cope with the absence of loved ones, Palmarosa essential oil will help you overcome these unpleasant conditions.
Commercially, the oil is used as a fragrance in soaps, perfumes and cosmetics.
The essence of palmarosa has been distilled since the 18th century. Under the name ‚Indian‘ or ‚Turkish geranium oil‘ it was transported from Bombay to Constantinople and Bulgaria, where it was used as a quasi rose oil.
