We have developed our own system of CTEO - CERTIFIED THERAPEUTIC ESSENTIAL OILS standards and protocols to monitor, controland evaluate the quality of essential oils. Our goal is to consistently offer our customers essential oils of the best and most beneficial quality.

BEWIT experts travel around the world visiting a global network of vetted co-op partners to check and verify that growing and production practices meet the company's exacting quality requirements and standards. The plants must grow in optimal conditions, be harvested correctly and processed in a timely manner.

We use essential oil distillation methods that are gentle, gentle and reflect a combination of traditional historical knowledge and modern technology. Low temperature processing procedures are also used. The aim is to preserve the maximum amount of natural bioactive substances.

The purity and composition of BEWIT essential oils is controlled using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. In gas chromatography, each component of the essential oil passes sequentially through the measuring column and is analysed at the output. This determines which components are present in the test sample. In mass spectrometry, samples are evaporated, ionised and weighed. Mass spectrometry broadens the spectrum of access to the purity of essential oils, revealing non-aromatic components such as heavy metals or other contaminants that cannot be detected by gas chromatography procedures. The combination of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry is often referred to as a GC/MS test (Gaschromatography/MassSpectrometry). The results are compared with the historical database and the composition is evaluated. The samples are then subjected to spectrometric and microbial testing for the presence of hazardous substances such as yeasts, viruses, bacteria and fungi.

Finally, sensory testing is carried out - by taste, sight, touch, smell and even intuition. An indispensable part of CTEO quality verification is the personal approach, knowledge and experience of BEWIT essential oil experts.
