Super Fresh Guarantee
The oil pressing process is controlled so that the temperature does not
exceed 42 °C, thus preserving the maximum amount of beneficial
substances in the resulting oil. However, as natural processes occur in
the oil over time, the content of these valuable substances decreases. To
achieve maximum freshness and nutritional value, the
oil is pressed only after we receive your order. Super freshness
guaranteed.
History
More than 7000 years ago
The benefits of flaxseed and its products have been known for more than
7000 years. The Latin name “Linum usitatissimum” itself speaks of
the versatility and usefulness of this oilseed, from whose seeds
flaxseed oil is obtained.
The beneficial effects were described by Hippocrates himself
The famous Hippocrates, considered the father of medicine, swore by this
liquid miracle. In his medical writings, Corpus Hippocraticum,
he meticulously described all the beneficial effects of flaxseed oil. Thus,
valuable information and recommendations regarding both external and
internal use can be found in the individual writings.
Even the press cakes, or waste product generated during oil pressing, were
not wasted. Thanks to their high nutritional value, they were
added to the feed for livestock at the time.
Cultivation and Origin
Flaxseed oil is one of the rarest oils
Flax is a relatively well-known and widespread oilseed. You won't
miss it in the wild. It grows to a height of almost one metre and
blooms with beautiful sky-blue flowers with a delicate white hue.
The fruit of flax is a dehiscent or indehiscent capsule. Inside the capsule
are dark brown, oval-shaped seeds from which the resulting oil is pressed.
Up to 7 kg of flaxseeds are used for one litre of quality oil.
Therefore, flaxseed oil is classified as one of the rarest oils.
The seeds from which we press flaxseed oil come
from India.
Composition and Properties
Flaxseed oil is considered one of the richest sources of essential fatty
acids. This has earned it the designation “oil of the third
millennium”. The uniqueness of this yellow-golden oil lies primarily
in its high content of omega-3 α-linolenic fatty acid, which
accounts for up to 55%. Omega-6 linoleic fatty acid makes up
13%. These acids form an indispensable part of a balanced diet and thus
contribute to achieving an ideal ratio of essential fatty acids
consumed.
A nutrient-packed food
The body cannot produce essential fatty acids on its own, so we must obtain
them through diet. Along with other biologically active substances contained in
the oil, this RAW cold-pressed oil is literally a
nutrient-packed food.
Read carefully
While the high content of essential fatty acids is
responsible for the exceptional nutritional properties of flaxseed oil, their
significant disadvantage is that they are easily perishable.
Therefore, store it immediately upon receipt in the
refrigerator and consume it within 3 months
at the latest. Throughout storage, also keep the flaxseed oil in its original
dark glass bottle.
The spoilage processes accompanied by the development of a highly
bitter taste are a completely natural property
of flaxseed oil. However, proper storage can maximally
delay the onset of these processes.
Production Method
Cold-pressed, unrefined – oil obtained from seeds or
fruits at a temperature not exceeding 40°C without the use of chemicals, thus
retaining its natural taste, aroma, and colour, but has a shorter shelf life.
Suitable for cold cuisine.
Use
In vegetable and legume salads, on crispy bread, in yoghurt and quark
Freshly pressed flaxseed oil is typical for its delicate nutty taste
with lingering bitter undertones. It is used exclusively in cold
cuisine, as its beneficial substances are sensitive to high
temperatures. It is excellent in combination with cold vegetable and legume
salads. We recommend drizzling it over crispy bread or other favourite baked
goods. You can also mix a spoon of flaxseed oil into yoghurt and quark.
