Multiple chemotypes of thyme
There are several chymotypes of thyme essential oil, which, in addition to the aroma, differ slightly in their effects. Thyme oil with a predominant chemotype component borneol is considered less irritating due to its lower thymol content.
Although the effects of thyme essential oil are beneficial, do not use it during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or with children under 12 years of age.
