SUGANDHA MANTRI (HOMALOMENA AROMATICA)
Homalomene root essential oil has a distinctive, earthy, resinous aroma that can be reminiscent of being in the woods. In aromatherapy, it is used for its purity in meditation and spiritual therapies to calm the mind. Add a few drops to your diffuser and create a calm, relaxing atmosphere, not only before sleep.

Homalomena (Homalomena aromatica) is an aromatic perennial herb commonly found in Assam and adjacent states of the sub-Himalayan region of India. The resulting essential oil is extracted from its flowers by a gentle process, steam distillation.
DID YOU KNOW THAT?
The name sugandha comes from Hindi and its literal translation is „aroma“. You may also come across the name „Gandhi roots“ i.e. Gandhi's rhizomes. In China, homalomena is referred to as „qian nian jian“, which translates to„thousands of years of health“.
CONCLUSIONS
Homalomene essential oil is a natural cocktail of hundreds of biologically active substances. However, substances called Linalooland Terpinen-4-ol are considered to be the main ones.

Homalomene essential oil has been used in traditional Indian and Chinese medicine for thousands of years. In Manipur, India, the local people make a paste from sugandha roots, which they then use for a myriad of skin ailments. Sugandha essential oil is also present in most oriental perfumes.
