Camphor basil with its sweet and spicy notes with a camphor tinge reliably drives away mosquitoes, moths and other unwelcome insect guests.
Be very cautious with camphor basil essential oil. Indulge in a limited amount and only for a short time. Always follow the recommended dosage. Avoid during pregnancy, breastfeeding and with children.
The essential oil of true basil (Ocimum basilicum) has an herbaceous, slightly woody, anise-like aroma, whereas the essential oil of holy basil (Ocimum sanctum ) has a spicy, full-bodied aroma more reminiscent of cloves. The essential oil of camphor basil (Ocimum kilimandscharicum), on the other hand, is subtly earthy, with hints of blueberry and lavender.
