Different roses

There are several types of essential oils from the rose – the queen of flowers. They have similar effects but slightly different aromas. Damask rose (Rosa damascena) smells full and sweet with distinct notes of flowers and green freshness. White rose (Rosa alba) is the most delicate, its scent is unobtrusive, velvety with a buttery citrus hint. Centifolia rose (Rosa centifolia) has a more intoxicating and seductive character.

Although rose is considered a maternal oil, use it with caution during pregnancy, especially when applying it to the skin.

Rose essential oils are very rare because an enormous amount of petals is used to obtain them. A more affordable option is rose diluted in jojoba oil. It has comparable effects because rose essential oil is effective even at very low concentrations.
