ORGANIC RAW FIGS
Dried figs, a pleasantly sweet, exotic delicacy full of vitamins, beneficial
substances, and essential fibre. What's more, they are surprisingly soft and
crunchy. They will add that true spark of the Orient with an imaginative fruity
touch to breakfast porridges, biscuits, and raw desserts. They are also
excellent on their own.
A Miracle of the Orient
Figs, this highly nutritious fruit, originated in the Ancient Orient. They
became popular not only for their pleasantly sweet taste but
also because, compared to other fruits, they kept you full for longer. For many,
they were therefore an important part of their sustenance. [1, 2]
A Mediterranean Gem
The Mediterranean, here too you can enjoy divine figs. Whether fresh or
dried, you'll find them in almost every traditional dish. Given their high
nutritional value, it's no wonder they became the „daily bread“ of the
local inhabitants. According to preserved writings, figs are a symbol of
peace, abundance, and prosperity. [3]
Cultivation and Production
Fully Ripe, Sun-Dried
A significant disadvantage of figs is that they ripen very
quickly. After harvesting, they must be processed
immediately, in our case, dried in the gentlest way possible,
in the sun.
Sulphur Dioxide and Added Sugar Free
During processing, the figs are not treated with sulphur
dioxide, so they have a darker colour and a milder taste. They
are not sweetened either.
To Prevent Sticking
Since figs are, by themselves, a source of natural sugars,
they tend to stick together. Sticking is prevented by a thin
layer of rice flour with which they are dusted.
