Although the effects of ginger essential oils are similar, there are differences in their scents. While the scent of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) is gently balsamic, Sumatran pine (Pinus merkusii) has a distinct eucalyptus scent. In contrast, the scent of red pine (Pinus resinosa) is distinctly earthy to spicy, while the white pine (Pinus strobus) combines with a fresh, delicate fragrance.
