Unique Persian rose
The Persian rose is a natural hybrid, which originated about
7,000 years ago on the borders of today’s Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and
Turkmenistan, from where it spread throughout the Persian Empire. The famous
tradition of producing rose oil, which has played an important role in medicine,
perfumery and rituals since the beginning, soon developed here.
Iranian rose essential oil is considered the most intense
and the most complex variant of rose oil. It differs from the
Bulgarian or Turkish rose oil by its deeper, richer and fruitier fragrance with
subtle spicy undertones. The unmistakable scent, for which it is extremely
valued in perfumery and aromatherapy, is due to the unique combination
of Iran’s climate and the soil of the Kashan region.
Rose double distilled
This essential oil was created by steam distillation of rose
blossoms. The designation „double distilled“ means that there have been
two distillation cycles. The first distillate undergoes another
cycle of distillation to remove the heavier components and enhance the lighter,
more aromatic notes.
The result is a softer and lighter essential oil, more popular for perfume
making. It is lighter in colour and less viscous in consistency.
Compared to it, the scent of essential oil once distilled is more intense and
finds greater application in aromatherapy.
The rarest essences
Rose essential oils are very rare, as a huge amount of raw
material is used to extract them: approximately 3–4 tons of rose petals are
needed for 1 kg of rose oil. That’s why it’s one of the most
expensive oils in the world.
A more affordable option is BEWIT
Rose of Damascus double distilled in MCT oil.
Warning
Rose essential oils can thicken when in contact with oxygen
even at room temperatures. If you are unable to get the essential oil out from
the bottle, we recommend removing the dropper from the bottle and using a skewer
or glass pipette to get the desired amount. Usually, gentle warmth in the palms
or a gently heated water bath is recommended when using such thick oils.
You can delay the natural thickening of the oil by carefully
closing the bottle and storing the oil in a dark, dry place.
Caution in pregnancy
Although rose is considered a mother oil, handle it carefully during
pregnancy, especially when applying to skin.
