Copaiba is a richly branched tree up to 30 m tall growing in the Amazon. The part of the plant used is the resin, which is obtained by cutting or drilling the trunk of the tree (similar to obtaining maple syrup).
The main chemical constituent of Copaiba is beta-caryophyllene, a sesquiterpene. It is a substance similar to the cannabinoid in cannabis.
Copaiba is a versatile oil in its own right and an extremely suitable complement to other resin oils such as frankincense or myrrh. It is slightly yellowish in colour and has a bitter taste.
Tip: if you have a busy day ahead or are feeling restless, nervous or anxious, use it in a diffuser and enjoy its woody scent. It will calm not only you, but also all those who will be in the scented space.
