Shea butter is produced by pressing the seeds of the African shea tree (Butyrospermum Parkii). This mighty tree, also known as karité or shea, originates from the savannah belt of sub-Saharan Africa. Local inhabitants consider shea butter an important raw material for cosmetic production, in the kitchen, and in traditional medicine.

Countries like Burkina Faso, Mali, or Ghana also appreciate its social significance. According to tradition, the fruits are mainly collected and processed by women, who thus have a chance for economic independence. Emphasis is placed on sustainability and traditional methods during processing.

The recipe for BEWIT shea facial butters guarantees a high content of this raw material in organic quality. Thanks to the combination with other plant oils, it acquires a pleasant creamy texture and does not solidify like pure shea butter.

How to use

1. Cleanse and tone your face and neck. We recommend using one of our hydrolats, try Immortelle Hydrolat Organic, Damask Rose Hydrolat Organic or Sage Hydrolat Organic.

2. Take a small amount of shea facial butter, about the size of a hazelnut.

3. Gently massage it into clean and damp skin. Applying it to damp skin is ideal, as the butter is harder to spread on dry skin.

Tip: You can prepare your skin for the application of shea butter even more thoroughly with a gentle massage using a konjac sponge.

Facial shea butter will serve you well anytime of day and throughout the year. However, in the summer months, we recommend using it rather overnight as a regenerating treatment. During the day, in combination with sweat, it might feel too heavy.
