Pharmaceutical quality, yet subtle differences - how glass vials work

10

Our customers are observant - and we appreciate that. Occasionally, there is a question as to why there may be slight differences in the level of essential oil in the bottles. Thank you for these insights - and we'd be happy to explain why this is happening.

The amount of oil is precisely measured

Each bottle of BEWIT contains the declared amount of essential oil - for example, 5 ml or 15 ml. We use pharmaceutical grade dosing technology to ensure maximum accuracy. The amount of oil is therefore always the same, regardless of where exactly the oil level ends.
Differences in level are not due to the volume of oil, but are a natural consequence of technological variations in the production of glass containers.
And if you still want to be sure - the amount of oil can be easily checked at any time by pouring it into a graduated cylinder.

Why can the level be a little higher or lower?

  1. Inner shape of the bottle
Even if the bottles are identical in shape on the outside, their internal space may differ slightly - for example, in the curvature of the bottom or the width of the neck. This internal geometry affects how high the oil level reaches.
  2. Glass manufacturing tolerances
Glass bottles are produced in large batches and are subject to so-called manufacturing tolerances. These minor variations are also common in the pharmaceutical industry and affect the internal volume of the vial.
  3. Thickness of glass
Even a slightly different wall or bottom thickness of the vial can cause a difference in the available internal space. Two bottles with the same amount of oil may therefore look visually different.

Small bonus: more space, better dosing

Our 15ml bottle actually has a volume of approximately 17ml. This addition does not increase the amount of oil (which is always precisely measured), but it has a practical advantage: the dropper is not immersed too deeply, which makes for more convenient and precise dosing - especially for thicker essential oils.
At the same time, there is less contact between the oil and the plastic parts of the dropper, which we see as desirable in terms of product quality and cleanliness.

Summary

  • Each bottle of BEWIT contains a precise amount of oil
  • Differences in surface height are a natural consequence of glass container manufacturing and internal geometry
  • The entire filling and control process complies with pharmaceutical standards
  • The quantity can be easily verified at any time by pouring into a graduated cylinder
  • The design of our bottles also allows for more efficient dosing and greater oil protection
