Turmeric zedoar, also called white turmeric, is a beautiful and rare essential oil. Different from other turmeric species in composition, it lacks curcumin and tumerone, the oil is transparent and its smell is not like that of the spice itself- it smells more like camphor. It grows in the Terai range of Nepal – a flat lowland swampy area at the foot of the Himalayas.
Turmeric is one of the plants that has been the subject of much scientific research. Turmeric essential oil has been described by many scientists as one of the most effective. It has been an important part of many natural healing systems for thousands of years.
