A GLIMPSE INTO THE HISTORY OF ROSEMARY

Sacred herb

Historically, rosemary was considered a sacred herb by the ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Hebrews and Romans and was used for many purposes. The Greeks wore a tower with rosemary around their heads when studying because it was believed to improve memory. Along with the Romans, they used it at almost all celebrations and religious ceremonies, including weddings, as a reminder of life and death.

It warded off the plague

In the Middle Ages, it was believed to drive away evil spirits and prevent the onset of dengue fever. With this belief, rosemary branches were scattered along paths and left in doorways to prevent the plague from spreading. Rosemary was also an ingredient in "Four Thieves Vinegar ", which was a mixture used by grave robbers to protect against the plague.

He brought good luck

The plant was attributed with the power to bring happiness and joy and the ability to protect against magic and witchcraft. Wiliam Langham (1579) advised, „Cook much rosemary and bathe in it to be strong, vigorous, cheerful, popular and young.“ Paracelsus, a German-Swiss physician and botanist who contributed greatly to the understanding of herbal medicine in the 16th century, valued rosemary oil for its ability to strengthen the body as well as heal organs such as the liver, heart and brain.

Symbol of remembrance

As a symbol of remembrance, rosemary is thrown into graves as a promise that loved ones who have died will not be forgotten.

BEWIT HAIR

Łącze go z serum do włosów Hair, naprzemian z olejkiem z rozmarynu do olejowania moich włosów.
